From a reliability point of view the 1.9 pd engine is much more reliable than the 2.0 PD tdi. There are a few differences between the engines and the 105/115 Bhp 1.9 PD Tdi has been detuned by using a smaller turbocharger and weaker bottom end. 1.9 TDI has better fuel economy than 2.0 TDI. I can't offer any advice about swapping a TDi into a Wrangler, BUTdramatic pausehaving been a diesel mechanic for a while as well as having spent several thousand miles behind a TDi, I'd suggest almost anything BUT this engine if you want a diesel.
